FROM A DISTANCE:

From a distance the world looks blue and green,
and the snow-capped mountains white.
From a distance the ocean meets the stream,
and the eagle takes to flight.

From a distance,
there is harmony,
and it echoes through the land.

It's the voice of hope,
it's the voice of peace,
it's the voice of every man.

From a distance we all have enough,
and no one is in need.

And there are no guns,
no bombs,
and no disease,
no hungry mouths to feed.

From a distance we are instruments marching in a common band.

Playing songs of hope,
playing songs of peace.

They're the songs of every man.

God is watching us.

God is watching us.

God is watching us from a distance.

From a distance you look like my friend,
even though we are at war.

From a distance I just cannot comprehend what all this fighting is for.

From a distance there is harmony,
and it echoes through the land.

And it's the hope of hopes,
it's the love of loves,
it's the heart of every man.

It's the hope of hopes,
it's the love of loves.

This is the song of every man.

And God is watching us,
God is watching us,
God is watching us from a distance.

A Bruce Lee Poem:

The doubters said,
'man cannot fly.'

The Doer's said,
'maybe, but we'll try.'

And Finally,
Soared,
Into the morning glow,

While non-believers
watched from below.

Kindness:

Kind hearts are the garden,

Kind thoughts are the roots,

Kind words are the blossoms,

Kind deeds are the fruits.

Friendship:

In friendships fragrant garden,
there are flowers of every hue,
each with own fair beauty,
and gift of joy for you.

Friendship:

friendship buds and blossoms,
like flowers in full dress,
friendship brings a harvest,
of joy and happiness.

On Positive Thinking:

By Cindy Hurn.

" Do not under estimate the power of positive thinking."

Quite a strong sentence as a lead in but certainly a truer sentence never said. So, what is positive thinking? Why should we seriously consider developing positive thought patterns? Is it not all a cliché?

First of all a positive mind is a healthier mind. We all know about the dangers of stress and probably have experienced the dark turbulence of the mind. The mind can keep us awake, instill fear, insignificance, despair, eventually making us ill. But it can also give us hope, open the borders to the possible, the pathways to our imagination.

"How we think, does matter."

If we imagine that everything is energy then there is negative and positive energy in all things. This then tells us that no matter what happens, we always have a choice in our perspective. How you understand, digest a situation has an enormous effect on where you go from there.

Let's look at an example – Years ago there was a knock on my door. I was told that someone broke into my car. When I went to look the back window had been smashed and a blanket, a gift from a friend, stolen. My immediate thought was " It was cold last night, someone must have needed the blanket." Then returned to continue to get ready for work

Now I could have seen the hassle, become angry, fearful, gone in the house, 'kicked the dog' but as a positive thinker I viewed the break-in from another but a calmer, more comfortable perspective. This unexpected incident did not destroy my peace of mind, my day.

The lovely bit about this story was when I left for work, I found my blanket neatly folded and returned on my doorstop. An act that made me smile and reinforced my belief in mankind.

Okay, it still cost me £60 to fix the window, £60 I could ill afford. But let's face it, sometimes life just costs. A positive thinker looks for the positive because it is a more comfortable way to think and you end up learning from a negative situation. A negative thinker is more apt to look for the blame. Holding onto to feelings that are not comfortable, far too long, making a bad situation worse.

Life does have its difficulties, it's challenges. At times of great sorrow or loss, it can seem that no matter how much we try we cannot see the positive. But it is there. It has to be, as there is positive and negative in all things. In these cases, often the positive comes later. I'm sure all of us can think of a time when it was through hindsight that we understood why something happened, therefor learning and benefiting from this awareness.

"A positive thinker learns from life and initiates change"
while a negative thinker negates life and looks for blame.

The manner in which we think is habitual. Is the cup half full or half empty? By focusing on a life that is half full it begins to fill. A positive thinker attracts positive energy. A negative thinker reinforces the emptiness.

Being around a hopeful, positive person is very uplifting and healing. Point is, do not underestimate the power of positive thinking. In times of great change and challenge what better way to effect our environment and the world around us. The more positive we are the brighter we shine, adding light and hope into the darkness.

"Positive thinkers are open to learning and creating positive change."
So have a go. Develop a positive perspective; believe in the art of the possible.

the wisdom of a donkey:

One day, a farmers donkey fell down into a well.
The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally he decided the animal was old,
and the well needed to be covered up anyway,
it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

So he invited all his neighbors to come over and help him.
They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.

The donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.

Then, to everyones amazement, he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well,
and was astonished at what he saw.

With every shovel of dirt that hit his back,
the donkey was doing something amazing.

He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmers neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal,
he would shake it off and take a step up.

soon everyone was amazed
as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off!

Moral of the story:

Life is going to shovel dirt on us, all kinds of dirt.
The trick to getting out of the well, is to shake it off and take a
step up.

Each of our troubles is a stepping stone.
We can get out of the deepest well,
just by not stopping, never giving up!

Shake it off and take a step up!

Love:

Love is patient,
Love is kind.

It does not envy,
It does not boast,
It is not proud.

It is not rude, and is not self seeking.
It is not easily angered.
It keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil,
but rejoices in the truth.

It always protects,
It always trusts,
Always hopes,
Always perserveres.

Love:

There is no difficulty that enough Love will not conquer;
no disease that enough Love will not heal;
no door that enough Love will not open;
no gulf that enough Love will not bridge;
no wall that enough Love will not throw down;
no sin that enough Love will not redeem.
It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble;
how hopeless the outlook;
how muddled the tangle;
how great the mistake.

A sufficient realization of Love will dissolve it all.
If only you could Love enough,
you would be the happiest and most Powerful being in the world.
